CBSE Class 12 Compartment Exam 2024: There is important news for students of class 12 as the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) is all set to conduct the compartment exam (or supplementary exam) from July 15. This examination is conducted for students who obtained below-passing marks in the main examination. Students must note that the dates for download of admit cards will be informed separately by the Board and the results are likely to be announced by the end of July or in 1st week of August 2024.
CBSE is a national level board of education in India for public and private schools. It affiliates all Kendriya Vidyalayas, all Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalayas, private schools and most of the schools approved by the Government of India.
CBSE Class 12 Compartment Exam 2024 Eligibility Criteria for Regular Students
- Regular students who appeared in Board’s Examinations 2024 through schools affiliated to the Board and declared as COMPARTMENT are eligible to apply only in one subject in which they are placed in the Compartment. OR
- Regular students who appeared in Board's Examinations 2024 through schools affiliated to the Board with 6 subjects and placed in COMPARTMENT in two subjects are eligible to apply in any one of the two subjects in which placed in the Compartment. OR
- Regular students who appeared in 6 subjects in Board’s Examinations 2024 and declared PASS but could not clear one subject, can appear in the failed subject under the Improvement of the Performance category only in the subjects whose examinations will be conducted. OR
- Regular students who appeared in the Board’s Examinations 2024 and declared PASS can appear in any one subject under the Improvement of the Performance category only in the subjects whose examinations will be conducted.
CBSE Class 12 Compartment Exam 2024 Eligibility Criteria for Private Students
- Students who appeared under the category “Private” in full subjects (05) in Board's Examinations, 2024 and result declared as GOMPARTMENT are eligible to apply only in one subject in which placed in Compartment. OR

Students who appeared under the category “Private” in Board's Examinations, 2024 with 6 Subjects and placed in compartment in two subjects, are eligible to apply in any one of the two subjects. OR
Students, who appeared under category “Private” in Board's Examinations, 2024 with 6 subjects and declared PASS but could not clear one subject, are eligible to apply in the failed subject under the Improvement of the Performance category only in the subjects whose examinations will be conducted. OR
Students who appeared under category “Private” in Board's Examinations/Result, 2023 and result declared as COMPARTMENT, again placed in “COMPARTMENT” category at the 1St chance in Compartment Examination 2023 and yet again in 2nd chance Compartment Examination with Board examinations 2024 are eligible to apply only in one subject in which placed in Compartment, for 3rd and final chance in Supplementary Examinations-2024. The 3rd chance in Supplementary Examinations 2024 will be the last chance for the student who appeared for Board's Examinations/Result 2023. OR
Women and CWSN students of Delhi who appeared under category “Private” in Board's Examinations, 2024 are eligible to apply in any one subject under the Improvement of the Performance category only in the subjects whose examinations will be conducted.

CBSE Class 12 Compartment Exam 2024: Fee Structure for Regular Students
The fee structure for regular students is as such- for schools in India Rs. 300 per subject, for schools in Nepal Rs. 1000 per subject and Rs. 2000 for schools outside India.
Visually impaired students of Class X/XIl are exempted from the examination fee.
