Legacy and Honours
The Indian government honoured Aryabhata for his great contribution in Mathematics by launching its first satellites in his name in 1975.
Major discoveries
Aryabhata was the one who found out the approximation of pie. He also discovered zero for the first time and stated that Earth rotates on its axis.
Translations
His work influenced the Persian polymath Al-Khwarizmi and Arab Astronomer Al-Zarqali and it was translated into Arabic language from its Sanskrit version.
Birth year and place
His book Aryabhatiya suggests that he was born in 476 CE and people believe he was born in Kerala but some also believed that he took birth in Patna.

His popular book Aryabhatiya contains 108 verses and he talks about many branches of mathematics like trigonometry, arithmetic and algebra.
